While this video was uploaded a while back, it has been trending recently on social media as people begin to take a bit of notice of just how open and public their social media presence makes them.

As the news report shows, you can find out a huge amount of information through the geo-tagging data that our phone sends with the photo, and there are plenty of free add-ons out there that are ready to give out your home address to anyone who’s bothered to check.

While the technical details are pretty thin on the ground in this vide, it’s a good idea to check your privacy settings and read the permissions that you’re agreeing to when you download apps (in location settings on Android, and for the individual apps themselves) to make sure that you’re not giving too much information away.
