Video: Looks like Kevin Spacey is going to play a villain in the upcoming Call of Duty

In fairness, they could hardly have picked a better man for the job.

In fairness, they could hardly have picked a better man for the job.

Just when you thought that you weren’t going to see Kevin Spacey play an evil role until the return of House of Cards for a third season, probably in February of next year (is it strange that we’re counting down the days already?), Activision have done us all a favour and seemingly cast the hugely popular actor as a villain in the latest instalment of the Call of Duty franchise due for release this weekend.

An audio clip featuring a voice a lot like Spacey’s did the rounds earlier this week and last night, a link was posted to the YouTube video above from the Call of Duty Twitter account and if that’s not Kevin Spacey, then Frank Underwood is not a conniving, ruthless yet somehow likeable son of a b*tch in House of Cards.

Spacey, of course, wouldn’t be the first high-profile actor to lend his voice or visual likeness to the Call of Duty series as the likes of Gary Oldman, Kiefer Sutherland, Michael Keaton, Megan Fox and Jonah Hill have either featured in the game itself or in ads for the game in the past.

As well as the foreboding teaser featuring Spacey, meanwhile, the Call of Duty Twitter account also posted an official trailer for the new release, titled Advanced Warfare, and it looks very impressive indeed.
