Video: The new CGI trailer for Alien: Isolation looks scarily excellent

Alan Loughnane

A highly intelligent Alien hunting you down, what’s not to like?

The CGI trailer for the upcoming video game Alien: Isolation has been released and if the trailer is anything to go by, it will be underwear-changingly terrifying.

Based more on the original Ridley Scott film Alien, you are being hunted by a single monster that you have no way of killing and very few options when it comes to defending yourself. Therefore it will be slightly different from the ‘Rockem Sockem’ action you usually get in most video games these days.

In the game you will take the role of Amanda Ripley, sent to the Nostromo ship to find records of her mother. Predictably, something goes wrong and you are sent spinning into a nightmare where you are stalked aboard the clanking ship by the Alien and your only options are to run or hide.

JOE has been excited ever since we saw the original trailer all those months ago, and that excitement has been somewhat diluted by fear but we will still be hitting the shops to buy Alien:Isolation when it’s released on the 7th of October.

Take a look at the trailer, but we would advise that you watch it in a brightly lit room… with your back to the wall.

Hat tip to ShortList and video via PlayStation.
