Wanna help BOD walk down Grafton Street without being congratulated? Then try playing Flappy BOD

Much like the man himself, this idea is the stuff of genius.

Irish rugby fans everywhere will soon mourn the loss of Brian O’Driscoll when the realisation sets in that Saturday was the last time we’ll see him in a green jersey, but you certainly can’t say he wasn’t given a good send-off.

The tributes to our greatest ever player started flowing well in advance of the Italy game and haven’t stopped yet, with WWE superstar Sheamus the latest to pay homage to BOD over the weekend.

O’Driscoll’s back must be red with all the backslapping in the last number of days and weeks and with that in mind, Irish woman Aoife Crowley has developed a game called Flappy BOD (play it here) based, of course, on Flappy Bird, which was highly addictive but drove millions of people mad upon its release a few months back.

The gameplay here is very similar to Flappy Bird, but in this instance you have to help BOD navigate his way down Grafton Street without being congratulated, a feat that is about as hard in this game as it would be in real life, particularly in this week of all weeks.

Of all the tributes paid to the great man of late, this might be the most fitting yet.

Bravo Aoife.
