WATCH: The first trailer for Destiny 2 is here and it has quite the sense of humour

Rory Cashin

Nearly 3 years to the day, Destiny 2 will land in stores, and today you’re getting your first look at what you can expect from it.

While the original is still the most expensive game ever created – half a billion dollars, with a b! – and went on to become one of the biggest selling original games of all time, there were a few criticisms levelled at the game, such as it taking itself a little too seriously.

This first trailer for Destiny 2 puts to rest the fears that it might continue in that po-faced vein.

We’ve got two different leaders giving two different groups two very different rallying speeches.

But whereas the first has got the guy from John Wick and Fringe giving the usual spiel about coming together in times of despair, the other guy (voiced by Serenity’s Nathan Fillion) is telling his rag-tag crew that the war has destroyed his stuff, so he wants to go out there and steal other people’s stuff.

There’s not much else to it in terms of plot or who these people actually are, but already it is proving to be very entertaining.

Destiny 2 will arrive on PS4, Xbox One and PC from 8 September 2017.
