It’s heading abroad for 2016.

For the last five years, Web Summit has been in Dublin. The annual technology event attracted some of the brightest technological minds to our capital and became an important pillar of the global startup ecosystem.

Next year, for the first time since it started, Web Summit will be held abroad in Lisbon.

Paddy Cosgrave (pic above), the founder of Web Summit said, “…it has not been an easy decision to move Web Summit from its Irish home. We are going because we want to take the next step on our journey to international growth.”

About Lisbon, he went on to say, “Lisbon is a great city with a thriving startup community. What’s more, it has great transport and hotel infrastructure and a state-of-the-art venue with capacity for more than 80,000 attendees.”
