People flocking to ‘Amalfi Coast dupe’ where you can get a beer for €2

It’s been hailed this year’s ultimate alternative destination

People have been urged to travel to an island which has been dubbed the perfect dupe for the Amalfi Coast.

The Amalfi Coast is one of Europe’s most lusted after travel spots.

The 50km stretch along Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula is full of cliffside lemon groves, picturesque fishing villages and gorgeous tiny beaches, perfect for sunbathing with an Aperol in hand.

However, the holiday hotspot gets a lot of flack for its huge crowds and expensive price tags.

That’s why this year people appear to be flocking to a new destination which offers all the same glorious sights, but for a fraction of the price tag.

Malta‘s sea caves and striking architecture make it a perfect ‘dupe’ for the Amalfi Coast, but without the expense.

A pint of lager in Sorrento on the Amalfi Coast costs almost €6, whereas in Malta, the average lager costs just €2.30!

It’s not just being there that will be affordable either.

Skyscanner shows that you can get return flights to Malta from Ireland for as little as €60 in June.

The Mediterranean island has a lot to offer in terms of its rich history, with the city of Valletta being recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In terms of weather, you won’t have to worry about whether you will be there in time for the sunshine.

Malta receives a whopping 300 days of sun every year, making it one of the sunniest destinations in Europe.
