In case you hadn’t already realised, we’re big fans of Mick McCarthy in JOE Towers. As well as being a former Irish captain and manager, he is responsible for two of our favourite YouTube clips of all time, he had been sporting a quite magnificent beard of late and some of the quotes he comes out with are pure gold, mostly because he usually refrains from bullshit when speaking to the press.
McCarthy’s Ipswich side took the lead in their league clash against Leeds last night but in the end they could only manage a 1-1 draw that left them further adrift of the play-off places and Big Mick wasn’t in the mood for pleasantries afterwards according to this tweet from Senior Editor of East Surrey and Sussex News & Media Glenn Ebrey last night.
