JOE

You voted… now the results are in.

The second year of the hugely successful AIB Start-up Academy, in association with the Irish Times, is about to kick-off, and now the full lineup has been chosen.

The AIB Start-up Academy asked the readers of JOE.ie and Her.ie to select their wildcard option to get their chance to progress to the next round.

The seven wildcard Start-ups all posted short videos, explaining what their business has to offer.

You can watch them again here.

So, after you guys voted on Twitter, Jenny Reynolds of Topper Technology, beat her six rivals and secured the most hashtag mentions.

Speaking about her Wildcard win, Jenny said:

I am so happy, there are no words! I just wanted to say thanks to JOE and Her for running such an amazing competition.

“When you’re a start up it feels like you’re running up a steep hill. It was such an emotional journey, the support was unbelievable.

“WOD Holidays gave us some run for our money and put up such a fight.

“I wish them the best of luck and want to say to others to keep pushing on and chin up.”

Jenny, and her company Topper Technology, will now join ten of the Irish Start-ups who have already been selected by a panel of judges.

The winner and two runners-up of the eight-week business launch pad will share a prize package of €250,000, with the overall winner receiving a direct €20,000 cash investment.
