When you move to a new area, it can be hard to find your way around so we do have some sympathy for Liverpool loanee Andre Wisdom’s recent troubles in Derby. Only some though. The defender was sent to the Championship side from Anfield two weeks ago, so he has been staying a hotel while he sorts a gaff out. With Derby playing Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday at Pride Park, Wisdom hopped into his very snazzy Porsche, stuck the address of the stadium into the satnav, and set off to work. However, as we all know, the old satnav can be a bit dodgy, and the England U21 international was sent down a dirt track by his on-board computer. However, rather than suspect that this wooded path was not the road to a major football stadium, Wisdom pressed on, only coming to a stop when his car got stuck in an enormous mud hole. Stranded six miles from the stadium, Wisdom managed to make contact with somebody and made it to the game on time, while his car was eventually towed to safety later in the day. Still, we suspect there is a big dry cleaning bill, a bit of valeting, and a new sat nav on Wisdom’s to-do list this week.
