The 25 year-old Celtic star was arrested and brought to Dublin District Court today.
Stokes, with an address at Bellhaven Terrace, Glasgow, is charged with assault causing harm to 42-year-old Elvis impersonator Anthony Bradley at Buck Whaley’s nightclub on Leeson Street on June 8 last year.
According to a report in the Irish Times, Judge Michael Walsh granted bail on Stokes’ own bond of €1,000.
The incident is alleged to have taken place after the friendly match between Ireland and the Faroe Islands last summer.
No plea was entered by Stokes today and he is due to appear in court again on May 29.
