Barcelona’s transfer ban is lifted for the summer

Shocking news of the day...

Shocking news of the day…

In a decision that will probably surprise absolutely nobody, Barcelona have had their transfer ban suspended, which will allow them to go and buy players in the summer window.

A statement from FIFA said that the club had lodged an appeal along with a request for a suspension of the ban while the process is ongoing. As a result of the FIFA Appeal Committee not being “in a position to take a decision on the main issue early enough”, the club will be allowed to make signings again, at least during the next window.

The statement goes on to assure that proper proceedings will take place, as will an appeal, before the next transfer period, so Barcelona will have to wait until then to face the music. With the number of players they need to bring in this summer, and now with a possible transfer ban hanging over them in the future, they may find themselves digging into their pockets a little bit deeper than they had hoped, but either way, we expect them to go on a bit of a shopping spree.
