Joey Barton’s red card against Norwich yesterday was controversial and now the ‘victim’ has taken to taunting the QPR man via the medium of darts. Obviously.
It is safe to say that Barton’s reputation goes before him. His wild younger days included a number of very nasty incidents and he still plays the game with a fairly large wedge of attitude, one that still gets him into trouble.
But he appeared to have been very harshly treated in yesterday’s game between QPR and Norwich. A small clash between him and Bradley Johnson escalated and the Norwich man reacted like Barton had nutted him.
Referee Neil Swarbrick dismissed Barton and as you can see below, it appears Barton never touched him.
Anyway, the former Newcastle man took to Twitter, of course, to defend himself, claiming that Johnson conned the officials, something the FA are bound to take action over.

But now Johnson has added his two cents, via the powerful medium of a sign at the PDC World Final on Sky. Really.

As Adrian Lewis was in the process of retaining his title, the camera captured Johnson telling Barton why he really fell over.
What happens next will be interesting. Do the FA have any jurisdiction over the darts? Joey has yet to reply but if he does, and we expect he will, we will let you know right here on JOE.
