English middleweight Carl Froch says he is confident that a fight between himself and the undefeated (but retired) Joe Calzaghe could still happen.
According to reports on ESPN, the WBC super-middleweight champion said his dream homecoming fight against Calzaghe (pictured above looking banjaxed) could happen at some stage next year.
Froch was known for attempting to draw the Welshman into a bout while he was still fighting, but Calzaghe failed to make time for Froch before eventually retiring in 2008 on the back of an emphatic victory over Roy Jones Jr.
But Froch, already set to fight Andre Ward, revealed how he has been told that Calzaghe has already returned to training.
We still may see me fight Joe Calzaghe, who I hear is back in the gym and on the pads," Froch told Sky Sports News.
