Chelsea are the latest club to join the race to sign sought-after Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder.
The Londoners are said to be hopeful of making Guus Hiddink the new manager by the end of the week and the Dutchman is believed to have made it clear that he wants Sneijder at the club.
However, it will mean out-bidding other interested parties including Manchester United and Manchester City.
United are believed to be particularly interested in signing the player as he is seen as being a potential replacement for retired midfield legend Paul Scholes.
The €35m-rated Inter star is set to quit the San Siro this summer in favour of a move to the Premiership.
