Who knew The Dark Knight Rises stars would have to fight again? Well, not quite in person, but at the box office. English actor Christian Bale is in talks to star in a new untitled Everest expedition movie according to movie news website Deadline.
The movie will be based on a 1996 expedition on Mount Everest that was hit by a sudden unexpected storm and ended in a terrible loss of life. The movie is based on numerous accounts of the storm, including 'Into Thin Air' by survivor Jon Krakauer.

Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway and Christian Bale
The director signed up to take on the project is Baltasar Kormakur, who has just finished The Deep, a movie about a lone survivor off an Icelandic fishing trawler who swims to shore in freezing temperatures. Kormakur also directed the Mark Wahlberg thriller Contraband last year. A script has already been written by Justin Isbell and is being produced by Working Title and Universal Pictures.
Meanwhile, Tom Hardy is attached to play Sir George Mallory in another movie in production by Sony Pictures, which bears the name Everest. Sir George Mallory’s mission was to be the first to reach the top of Everest in the 1920s. The movie is to be based on Jeffrey Archer’s book ‘Paths of Glory.’
We like Tom Hardy (Bane) and we like Christian Bale (Batman), so we’ll probably just watch them both…
