Confirmed: Neil Lennon parts company with Celtic Football Club

According to BBC Sport, Neil Lennon has parted company with Scottish giants, Celtic Football Club. The ex-Northern Ireland international and former Celtic captain has left his position as manager of the club following talks about his footballing future.

After talks with his agent Martin Reilly and Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell, Lennon said the following in a brief statement…

“I have parted company with Celtic. The club are in a very strong position and I wish the fans and the club all the very best for the future. I can’t thank Peter Lawwell and the board enough for their backing and support during my time as manager.”

Lennon, 42, took charge of the Glasgow club in 2010, leading them to three league titles and two Scottish Cups.

The ginger-headed general has already been linked with a number of Premier League clubs such as West Bromwich Albion and Tottenham Hotspur, while Celtic legend and Swedish striking sensation, Henrik Larsson, has been touted as possible replacement. A return to Norwich, now in the Championship, has also been suggested.

A certain, ahem, David Moyes is also rumoured to be available currently… *tumbleweed rolls past*
