The father of Des Bishop, who inspired Des’s latest national tour, has passed away following his battle with cancer.
Comedian Des flew to America earlier this week in order to be with his ill father Michael after Michael’s health deteriorated.
“It is with great sadness that management for Des Bishop can confirm that Des’s dad, Michael Bishop, has passed away earlier today,” read a statement from his management company.
“Michael was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in November 2009.
“We wish to confirm that the national tour of My Dad Was Nearly James Bond is postponed, until further notice.
“Des respectfully requests privacy for himself and his family at this difficult time.”
