Did Owen Garvan have Ian Holloway in mind when he sent this tweet?

He doesn’t mention the Crystal Palace boss by name but it’s pretty clear that’s who he’s talking about.

Despite making a big contribution to Crystal Palace’s promotion to the Premier League last season and signing a new two-year deal in the summer, Irish midfielder Owen Garvan’s days at the club could be numbered after a tweet sent from his account this evening which seems to be in response to being left out of Palace’s 25-man Premier League squad.

There has been speculation in recent days that Garvan might join his old boss Dougie Freedman at Bolton, but if that tweet is anything to go by, he could well be prepared to sit it out until Holloway’s time at Palace is up. Besides, he’ll have to wait until January at the earliest before he can move on so maybe he thinks that Holloway will be gone before then.

Unfortunately for Irish fans, it looks like it will be a while before Garvan will be playing regular first-team football again, a shame considering that his performances last season and so far this season – he scored a cracker against Bristol in the Capital One Cup last week – could have eventually led to first Ireland call-up since figuring in Giovanni Trapattoni’s first Ireland squad.
