According to the baby name website Nameberry, Django, the name of the lead character in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, is one of the most popular baby names of 2013 so far.

People get baby names from all sorts of different places, be it TV, geographical locations or celebrities, but it looks like a lot of people wouldn’t mind naming their child after one of the leading characters in Django Unchained.

And it’s not just boy’s names that are being influenced by the big wigs in Hollywood. For girls, Katniss makes the top ten most popular baby names. Some of you will know where the name Katniss comes from, but if you don’t it was the name of Jennifer Lawrence’s character in the movie The Hunger Games.

Now that the obligatory picture of Jennifer Lawrence looking hot is out of the way…

So how exactly did Nameberry compile their statistics? According to the website: “Our boy names popularity rankings are based on more than 8 million views of our names pages in the first half of 2013.”

So thankfully, their list is just compiled from how many clicks certain names get on their website, and not from some official government source. Still, expect to see a few lads named Django in the not too distant future.
