Kate Tempest lyrically unloads at one of her musical heroes at this year’s Electric Picnic in Stradbally.
Earlier in the week JOE compiled a list of things to do and see at Electric Picnic that were a little less mainstream than usual. One of the acts included was the lyrical poet/rapper Kate Tempest who has really made herself known over the past year.
During this year’s Electric Picnic, Kate had her moment to shine in the 'Hot Press Chatroom' but it was her off-the-cuff rap to legendary hip-hopster Chuck D, or Carlton Douglas Ridenhour as his mammy might call him.
Chuck D, the once leader of the 1980s rap group Public Enemy, was astonished at Tempest’s ability to spit a lyric. Here is a video of the said encounter. Skip to 1:10 for the start of Tempest's rap.
