A second US F1 Grand Prix has been announced and this time it’s going to be held in New Jersey.
New Jersey, or ‘Joysey’ as it’s more commonly known by the MTV generation, has garnered a lot of attention over the past two years with the explosion of Jersey Shore. Now, a second US Grand Prix will be held in the hometown of Snooki, Pauly D and the rest of those ‘famous celebrities’.
The Jersey Grand Prix will be featured in the 2013 calendar along with the race in Austin Texas, although we can only imagine the Texans getting a tad confused over the cars turning right as well as left.
The track is laid out on 5.2 km of public streets and it will go through West New York and Weehawken. The Manhattan skyline and the banks of the Hudson River will be the backdrop for the race, making it one of the most spectacular in the season.
JOE’s alternative presidential candidate, Eddie Jordon, told BBC Sport, “Jersey will be the jewel in the crown, not just in terms of America, but in terms of GP racing and brand awareness."
"A race in the centre of a major city has huge upsides. There are difficulties in terms of getting around, but it pales into insignificance compared with the benefits for the teams, the country, the city, and just the whole euphoria of the thing."
Words of a true Irish leader who has passion, courage and more manky shirts then John McCririck, which is a feat in itself.
