The biological sister of Steve Jobs has left a touching eulogy dedicated to her beloved brother, entitled "A Sister's Eulogy", for the New York Times.
The eulogy is the same as the one his sister Mona Simpson delivered on October 16 at a memorial service for Jobs. The NYT piece details the final moments of Jobs' life and even his final words.
Interestingly, Simpson details how she and Jobs did not meet until they were aduts, while she recalls that she imagined her "long-lost brother", of Syrian descent, wanted to get in touch with her. "I imagined he looked like [actor] Omar Sharif," she said.
The most touching moments of the eulogy are left for the final paragraph, in which Simpson recalls Jobs dying peacefully at 2pm in the afternoon, surrounded by his family.
""Before embarking, he'd looked at his sister Patty, then for a long time at his children, then at his life's partner, Laurene, and then over their shoulders past them, before saying his final words," she said.
According to Simpson, his final words were six syllables and six words: "Oh wow. Oh wow. Oh wow."
