Norwegian whizz-kid, Martin Ødegaard has been called up to the senior Norwegian squad and he’s only 15!
Norway are scheduled to play the UAE on August 27th and have called up the youngster who has taken the Norwegian Premier League by storm this season for his club Strømsgodset. He had already come to our attention about three weeks ago here. As we said then and as we are saying now, get used to hearing that name as it’s surely only a matter of time before the behemoths of European football come knocking on the door.
When JOE was 15 we were all about playing football too, but maybe just up on the green with the lads as we tried to impress the girls looking on as we tried (unsuccessfully) to score ridiculous volleys and look completely nonchalant at the same time. We often ended up looking like someone with all the prowess and guile of an elephant on lots of caffeine.
Clearly Martin Ødegaard is a bit above that level. Fair play, kid’s gonna be a real big star.
