Mayo's swaggering corner-forward Conor Mortimer has been caught up in a Wayne Rooney style Twitter feud after being called an attention seeker.

Funny, not so long ago, the Mort made our list of GAA posers and our take was confounded by one twitterer after he called the Mayo star “an attention-seeking fool”.

Mortimer hit back: “wan suck my **** aswell? wan play in Croker? wan an allstar? #wannabe have enough attention as it is #jealousy”.

A Twtter user called @emmomac kicked off the war of words online by tweeting: “such an attention-seeking fool. You would imagine so many humblings on the pitch would teach you some humility.”

According to The Irish Sun today, Mortimer hasn’t gone overboard on the row and said, “It was only a bit of craic.”

Mortimer's Twitter account is called @Conmort for anyone interested in keeping an eye on any further slagging matches.
