This must be a first, surely?
Hitchin Town’s Red Insure Cup clash with fellow non-league side Arlesey Town on Monday evening was interrupted when a hedgehog was discovered on the pitch. The spiky creature seemed hell-bent on causing mayhem as it just lay there… doing nothing.

The linesman tried to be a ‘have-a-go hero’ and stop the hedgehog’s mindless rampage, but suffered the consequences.
The linesman tried to pick it up and jumped back after hurting his hand. Hilarious.

Thankfully, the linesman lived following the vicious assault and is apparently lucky to be alive… well, sort of.
Looks the linesman’s hand is better now. He was grimacing earlier. #hedgehog#football

Apparently, it took around seven stewards to wrestle the hedgehog down. It makes you wonder how that hedgehog was raised and where are his parents now? If someone doesn’t intervene soon, who knows what damage he’ll cause. What an absolute pr**k!
