We know Eden Hazard almost certainly played his last game for Lille last night, but we are still none the wiser about where he will end up next season.
Like the attractive girl in the nightclub who's fit and she knows it, Hazard has flirted with and teased a number of European giants for the last number of months, but was expected to reveal his intended destination following Lille’s final Ligue 1 game against Nancy last night.
Hazard duly went and scored a hat-trick to remind everyone why he is so coveted in the first place, but rather than announce his next club after the game, he merely hesitated further and revealed that Chelsea’s Champions League win may have turned his head once again.
"As long as I've not put pen to paper, I won't say where I'm going," the 21-year old French TV station Canal+ after the game.
"Chelsea makes you hesitate. They've won the Champions League and they'll be in it next season.
"For now nothing's been decided but it will be soon. Now I want to join up with the national team and then go on holiday. It'll do me a lot of good.
"It is possible that Chelsea's arrival at the negotiation table will delay things, as nothing is done," he added.
"My agent has met with Manchester and with Chelsea. They both give good offers and are both great clubs. I don't know. It's not been finalised yet."
There was speculation before Hazard’s announcement last night that he had agreed a deal with Manchester United in principle, but his quotes seem to imply that a deal with Chelsea or Manchester City is also possible, with Arsenal and Spurs set to miss out.
Hazard’s constant hesitation has caused much frustration amongst fans of the clubs he has been linked with on Twitter, with many comparing it to LeBron James and ‘The Decision’ saga in the US a couple of years back, while others have deviously suggested that this will be the jersey Hazard will be wearing next season.
