Do we finally have a release date for the iPhone 5? According to a tech blog, we'll be seeing Apple's new handset in the next fortnight.
All Things D believe that the next iteration of the iPhone will be unveiled by Apple's new CEO Tim Cook, who will replace the ailing Steve Jobs on the stage of their next media event.
The tech blog adds that plans are in place "to make the new device available for purchase within a few weeks after the announcement". So what can you expect from the new iPhone? Not too much, if previous industry whispers are correct.
Rumours abound that the device will have a 'teardrop' design, an improved messaging service, an 8MP camera and a wealth of iOS 5 upgrades.
If the date is true, the event will be the first Apple unveiling with Cook at the helm, and the first time the public will be able to attest if Apple's new CEO can hold an audience like the mercurial Jobs has done in the past. Either way, it's surely not too long until the official announcement of the ahem, announcement, so watch this space.
