Either Welsh side Amman United RFC have made one of the oddest signings in rugby history or former Welsh winger Shane Williams is playing everyone for fools.
Williams, who is now playing his trade in Japan with the brilliantly named Mitsubishi Dynaboars, posted a tweet a few days ago congratulating Amman United, Williams’ boyhood club, on the signing of Pudzianowski, who has won the title of world’s strongest man on five separate occasions and has also dabbled in MMA as well. Not a man to be messed with, basically.
The possibility of a 35-year old, 115 kg powerhouse with little rugby experience coming to Welsh rugby has obviously raised a little bit of suspicion, although he did play amateur rugby in Poland so maybe our scepticism is misplaced.

On Twitter, Amman United have been telling their followers that Pudzianowski has in fact signed, although the jokey tone of their most recent tweets could suggest that they are in on the act with Williams.
We can’t help but smell a rat, but if it does in fact come to pass, it would certainly make non-league WRU Division 3 West rugby more interesting than it obviously is already.
Could you imagine this guy putting his weight around on a rugby pitch?
