Deep in the bowels of Anfield, after watching Liverpool perform an open training session for their fans, Brendan Rodgers popped in to have a quick chat with JOE.
The Antrim man, and his team, will be heading to Dublin on Friday ahead of the Dublin Decider game with Celtic at Aviva Stadium on Saturday and we were there to speak to him about the clash.
The final game of Liverpool’s successful pre-season, the match is one that Rodgers is clearly looking forward to, as you will see below. The 40-year old also gives us lots of info on Liverpool’s new signings this summer, his bid to make the top four in the Premier League and, yes, gives us the very latest on a certain Luis Suarez.
In the flesh, Rodgers is a very impressive character and we can see now how a guy so young has landed one of the biggest jobs in football. He comes across as a man with a very definite plan, with a very clear idea of what he wants and expects from his team and the club looks to be in very safe hands indeed.
Results, of course, will dictate how Rodgers is ultimately perceived by many but on a one-to-one level he’s very engaging and we headed for home with a very positive opinion of the man in the Anfield hotseat.
