Whether you're staying in or heading out we've got it covered. Leave the working week behind with our top five picks.

Laugh yourself silly with Jason Manford

He may have been a naughty boy on webcams and quit The One Show, but Jason Manford's true calling is on the stand-up stage. You'll see what we mean if you catch the English comedian at Vicar Street this weekend.

Find out if Kasabian's Velociraptor! has claws

Unlike their 'Britpop revival' contemporaries from a few years ago, Kasabian haven't disappeared up their own arse (Arctic Monkeys), split up (Bloc Party) or became utterly irrelevant (Kaiser Chiefs) - they've gone from strength to strength. This weekend marks the release of the group's fourth release Velociraptor! and though expectations are high, they haven't let us down yet.

Enjoy a fantastic Irish double bill at Comedy Central Killarney

Ardal O'Hanlon and Neil Delamere are performing back-to-back routines (not literally, one will wait for the other to finish up first, obviously) this weekend for Comedy Central Killarney. What more needs to be said? At €27.65, tickets are a steal too.

After the disgraceful riots in Tottenham last month, it may sound like a tough proposition to watch a film that asks you to cheer on inner city-dwelling hoodies in Attack the Block but under Joe Cornish's careful direction and sparkling script, you'll be gripped throughout. And in fairness, the gang are fighting off a threat from outer space...

See if Jesse Eisenberg can rob a bank in 30 Minutes or Less

Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network, Zombieland) finds himself in dire straights after he's set a bizarre task - rob a bank or the bomb strapped to his chest goes off. Believe it or not, it's a comedy and while our film critic Emmet Purcell didn't end up laughing his socks off, it's a good pick for anyone dying for a trip to the cinema.
