It was a long day in the office yesterday as transfer deadline day brought with it some exciting last-minute deals.
As the clock struck 11pm last night there was still no official confirmation that Arsenal had definitely sealed a deal for Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta but finally Arsene Wenger got his man after it all nearly fell through.
The Spaniard joins for £10 million from the Toffees and has signed a four-year contract at the Emirates to the relief of Gunners fans.
In all, Wenger has moved quickly in the last couple of days to bolster his squad; adding towering centre-half Per Mertesacker, winger Yossi Benayoun, full-back Andre Santos and South Korea captain Park Chu-young.
Meanwhile, Stoke were busy bees on deadline day and just managed to tie up a deal for Peter Crouch in time.
A club record of £10 million had to be forked out to Tottenham for his services and he joins Wilson Palacios and Cameron Jerome as the new kids on the block.
