Liverpool cannot win title, says Suarez

Seven games gone and your star striker says you cannot win the league. If it was Robin van Persie and Arsenal you would say fair enough, but it was in fact Luis Suarez dismissing Liverpool’s title hopes.

The Reds sit six points behind Manchester United, who they play in 10 days at Anfield. Win that and the gap is just three with 30 games to go but the Uruguayan doesn’t think Kenny Dalglish will end the title drought at Liverpool this season.

"We have no limit and want to stay in the top four. But winning the Premier League is now very difficult," Suarez told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"The main reason why it is so difficult is because the two Manchesters and Chelsea are unreachable. But we can win the cups."

After a few years outside the top four getting back in there has to be the first goal, but to write off the Premier League so early is a very pessimistic view for Suarez to hold and contrary to most fans who are still in optimistic mood at this stage of the season.
