A 42-year-old man died in hospital yesterday of injuries he sustained when his car collided with a horse in Co Waterford.
Val Bible, a musician, was traveling on the road at Ballyduff East, close to Kilmeaden, when the horse bolted in front of his car.
The collision took place around 2am about five miles from Waterford city. The horse died at the scene while Mr Bible was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital by the emergency services.
According to reports in The Irish Independent, the horse’s owner could now face charges in relation to the incident.
It has not yet been established why the horse was running around on a stretch of the N25 although gardaí are carrying out an investigation.
