Man of the match Aidan O’Shea was refused at the door of a Dublin night club last night

It turns out that a man of the match performance in the All-Ireland quarter-final doesn’t get you in the door of certain Dublin nightclubs

After an impressive defeat of Donegal yesterday, a few of the Mayo lads went out on the town last night to celebrate, with man of the match Aidan O’Shea amongst them for a well-earned evening off.

However, it seems that wasn’t enough to get them in the door of one of Dublin’s biggest nightclubs, as they were turned away at the door of Everleigh Gardens.

We know that it wasn’t his hair that was the problem, given that it has many celebrity admirers like Brian O’Driscoll, so maybe he was wearing runners, a rookie mistake on a packed bank holiday weekend. He’s got a bit of shtyle about him though, so we doubt that.

Whatever the reason, O’Shea also tweeted to say that he felt great waking up this morning (obviously on the water last night) and that the lads at Grafton Lounge had let them in instead, and taken good care of them.

We presume that you’ve got to be at least man of the match in the semi-final to get into Everleigh, but we’re also left wondering what level you have to have played at to get in the door at Coppers…
