Call me Bond, James Bond, or at least the owner of Bond’s Aston Martin DB5

Your dreams can come true, you can own James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 – if you have $4.7 million. The DB5 is one of four Aston Martins used in the James Bond movies, including Skyfall last year.

While it doesn’t have electric windows or a sunroof, or even GPS, it does have the cool-factor that goes with owning a spy’s car, even if he is fictional. This DB5 is one of the two cars that was upgraded by Q, with rotating licence plates, front mounted machine guns, a bullet proof rear window and oil slick features.

Sure that would all come in handy if you were visiting Limerick at the weekend, especially the rear wheel tire-slicing device.

There are thirteen working gadgets on the 1965 car and it is being sold by UK Aston Martin specialists RS Williams. Already the company has been swamped with enquiries. We want to know will they trade in our Ford?

The highest price a regular Aston Martin DB5 has reached at auction before is £300,000, while another of the Bond Aston Martin DB5’s reached $4.1 million at auction in 2010, even though it had no gadgets and was just used for driving scenes in the movies.

Here's the scene in Skyfall when Bond gets the DB5 out of storage with M.
