The tournament is getting closer but the songs keep coming, and the latest effort to land on our lap is this one, We All Get Nil Together, from the Ill Thraps.
There are very few football songs that celebrate defensive brilliance. Oh Ah Paul McGrath might be as close as anyone has come to writing a tune in praise of defensive toughness. And that didn't take much writing.
But the lads in Ill Thraps have broken with that tradition to pen We All Get Nil Together, a summary of Giovanni Trapattoni’s outlook on football in the medium of song.
In essence, you won’t score on us and we might score on you, or else it will end 0-0, is Trap’s philosophy and a neat summary of this tune.
We don’t know much about the lads behind the song, apart from three names, Ger, Harry & Padraig, but they do a good job of making some funny rhymes, even if their knowledge of the existence of Polish as a language could see them lose some marks from the Polish jury.
Anyway, let us know what you think and don’t forget, we will be launching a vote to choose your favourite Euro 2012 tune soon, so watch this space.
