Readers of The Sun couldn’t have asked for more than this…
Goals by goalkeepers are rare and beautiful things. They usually fall into two catagories; a late, late goal from a corner a la Peter Schmeichel or a long punt downfield that bounces over their opposite number.
Asmir Begovic’s goal for Stoke against Southampton on Saturday fell in to the latter category and the big Bosnian looked suitably embarrassed to have fluked his way onto the scoresheet.
The rest of the game wasn’t up to much and it ended 1-1. That left the lads at The Sun in a dilemma as to what to choose as their ‘Move of the Match’.
In the end, they went with Begovic’s punt, which didn’t really trouble the graphics department all that much.
Thanks The Sun for highlighting the Move of the Match from #Stoke v #Southampton. Insightful. pic.twitter.com/dELYHilh7Q
