All hell broke loose at the Clare Minor A Hurling Final yesterday and the mayhem is pretty much summed up by one picture featuring the current Dublin senior hurling manager.

Daly’s Clarecastle were beaten by a point by Kilmaley in dramatic circumstances, winning with a sideline cut in the very last play of the game in second half injury time.

Unfortunately, however, the game is likely to be remembered for all the wrong reasons due to an unseemly row which broke out involving mentors from both sides, including current Dublin senior hurling manager and Clarecastle native Anthony Daly.

The mayhem is encapsulated in a photo (see below) which was posted on the Clare Courier Facebook page yesterday and was sent into us by an anonymous source and although we’re not entirely sure of the circumstances surrounding the row, it doesn’t reflect well on Daly, who is one of the most well-known and respected figures in the game of hurling at present.

Daly’s involvement in the picture aside, incidents like this are the last thing the GAA needs right now, coming as it does in the wake of the 96-week ban handed out to a GAA supporter in Limerick recently and similarly disturbing scenes in an All-Ireland Junior Club semi-final at the beginning of the year.
