As he recovers from shoulder surgery, WWE superstar Sheamus decided to take a trip to one of Ireland’s greatest landmarks, the Fr Ted House.
Over the weekend, Sheamus was one of the thousands of Dubs packed into Croke Park to see his side slip past Kerry and into the All-Ireland final.
But massive wrestling behemoths cannot live on GAA alone, especially when he is out of grappling action as he heals a damaged shoulder. So the Cabra native has set off on a mini-break to the west coast and his first stop, in Co Clare, was a very good choice indeed.
It can’t compete with the Burren, or the Cliffs of Moher, for natural beauty but the mere sight of Father Ted Crilly’s parochial house is enough to bring a smile to your face.
Sheamus certainly seemed to enjoy it, calling it his spiritual home.
At my spiritual home. The actual #FatherTed house in Co. Clare. @Glinner would be proud. pic.twitter.com/72JHuK9QSo
