Thought Croke Park was the only place that had splashed out on score analysis technology? Think again.
Since the installation of Hawk-Eye technology in Croke Park for this year’s Championship it has been used fairly sparingly. That said, it has been very effective and the absence of any wide/point debates at HQ has been a very pleasant change this summer.
However, there have been a few at Semple Stadium so we hope to see the computerised system installed at the home of hurling as soon as possible, before being rolled out across the county grounds.
But one Laois GAA club, Shanahoe, has jumped the gun and set up their own system. Thanks to John Clooney (@jclooney99) we have photographic proof of the technology in action.

In fairness, the man with the power, Tony Kennedy, looks trustworthy to us, even if he is wearing glasses. And he’s probably cheaper to install than Hawk-Eye too.
