Fresh from the news that Mario Balotelli has ordered a life-sized statue of himself; pictures have emerged of the statue in honour of Dennis Bergkamp that will soon go up outside the Emirates.
When a club decides to erect a statue of someone outside their ground, you know that person has really made an impact; just look at Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, Bill Shankly at Liverpool and eh, Michael Jackson at Fulham.
It will please Arsenal fans to learn that Dennis Bergkamp will join legends like Tony Adams, Thierry Henry and Herbert Chapman in being immortalised outside the Emirates Stadium, such was his impact on the club during his time in North London.
If the early pictures are anything to go by, it will be an incredibly appropriate tribute to a man who played over 300 times for the Gunners and won three Premier Leagues and four FA Cups while lighting up English football with consistent flashes of genius in his eleven years in red and white.
Showing Bergkamp controlling the ball like only he could, it is a magnificent tribute to the Dutchman, something that could only be bettered if the artist in question somehow managed to capture the exquisite turn that bamboozled Nikos Dabizas en route to one of the best Premier League goals ever seen.
Class.
