Everyone has heard of Angry Birds by now, and many more have downloaded the game. Now the Chinese have gone and made a real life version.
Well, when we say ‘real life’ we don’t mean you get to slingshot some pretty pissed of birds at pigs precariously placed among semi-constructed structures. No, you get to slingshot stuffed toys at wooden blocks. Big wooden blocks that don’t seem to fall over when hit.
The increasingly popular game is expected to be turned into a ‘life sized’ attraction for either Disney or Six Flags, but this venture in China probably wasn’t what the investors had in mind.
Now, it’s certainly not like the Chinese to rip off products valued in the west, but it seems as if this venture in the Window of the World Park is a total rip off. We’d expect this sort of thing to happen to Ikea and Apple (mainly because it already has) but ripping off Angry Birds? That’ll only make them angrier.
Anyone who has caught the Angry Bird fever (slightly less dangerous than swine flu) in the past two years should book a flight south for the winter as the creators of the game, Rovio, are suspected to bring the theme park to court, so no more Angry Aves for this Chinese lot.
