SBTRKT returns to Dublin for May gig

Masked, self-taught producer, SBTRKT is set to return to Ireland to play the Academy in May. It follows on from his gig in the Workman's for Heineken Green Spheres last year.

The DJ, whose real name is Aaron Jerome, will play The Academy, Dublin on Bank Holiday Weekend, Sunday 6th May. Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 13th at 9.00am.

SBTRKT  mixes elements of dubstep, 2-step, garage, house, soul and techno. He gave himself the alias, SBTRKT, to remove the identity of any one person from the music. It was also with that in mind that he wears African ceremonial masks while on stage.

The project name SBTRKT can also refer to the pairing of Jerome and  his frequent vocal collaborator Sampha.  SBTRKT has remixed tracks for for MIA, Basement Jaxx, and Underworld.

He's been getting massive attention from British DJs since 2009. KISS 100's Sinden said: "One of my favourite artists this year, SBTRKT. Seriously this guy is a mega talent and one for the future and ruling my Kiss show since the turn of the year. He keeps blowing my mind, not just with his dubstep output but all the other music he's producing."
