Senator David Norris has already started to plan his own funeral and has promised to deliver his own eulogy through a recording he is preparing.

The eccentric politician, who is hoping to be the next President of Ireland, told the Sunday Independent that he has meticulously planned his funeral.

“I’ve planned every single detail of my own funeral,” he confessed.

The Joycean scholar has started to record his eulogy which will be delivered form his coffin and he hopes that he will be able to include becoming the first openly gay President in his speech.

“If I become President, I will describe myself as a President who happens to be gay, which is a different thing to a gay President,” he tells the Indo.
