West Brom’s win over Sunderland at the weekend was tarnished by accusations of monkey chanting directed at Baggies striker Romelu Lukaku.

It seems that racist incidents are regular occurrences in the Premier League these days and there was as expected widespread condemnation of misbeahviour of some Black Cat's supporters last weekend. However, according to Sunderland fan Liam Hendon, it was all just a mis-understanding. He was in fact doing the chicken dance.
“People have got it all wrong. I wasn’t doing a monkey chant. I was doing a chicken dance,” he told the Sunderland Echo.
While we hope that is indeed the truth, the 21 year-old's reasoning is a little hard to fathom out. He claims to be devastated by the accusations and tries to explain he couldn’t possibly be a racist.

“I have black friends and black cousins. If I was racist, I wouldn’t pay to watch Sunderland because they have black players,” he added.
Thanks Liam for clearing all that up.
