Tevez relentlessly pursued by Old Lady

Although he seems to be having a ball during his time off in Argentina, Carlos Tevez might be about to become a football player again next month.

As you may have seen on this website yesterday, Tevez has been living it up in homeland while on (over) paid leave from Manchester City, from whom he has been cast aside since his spoilt brat act on the touchline against Bayern Munich back in September.

It’s pretty clear at this stage that the moody one has no future at City, yet despite doing his reputation an awful lot of harm in the last few months, there seems to be no shortage of suitors willing to take on him and all of his sizeable baggage in the January transfer window.

According to The Guardian this morning, Serie A giants Juventus are ready to trump major domestic rivals AC Milan in the battle to secure Tevez’s signature with an offer of £21 million, a deal which has been made possible through a series of phone calls from Juve director Pavel Nedved and City boss Roberto Mancini, who were former comrades at Lazio.

Tevez would apparently prefer Milan over Juventus, but Milan are not prepared to budge from an offer of just over £17 million and with City justifiably looking to squeeze every last cent from their problem child, Juve would seem to be in the driving seat.

As is always the case with Tevez, however, the situation is never that simple. Loving life as much as he currently is in Argentina, he doesn’t want to leave.

He recently told Argentinean magazine Gente that his wish is to “go to pre-season with Boca (Juniors) and play (Copa) Libertadores with them”.

“I don’t care if I lose money,” Tevez added.

“I’m tired of travelling and going back and forth. I’m not coming back to England.”

Well at least that much is certain then Carlos. And you can be sure there will be few tears shed when you finally say your goodbyes.
