The Michelin Guides website is way better than you could ever imagine

Thanks to one very quick thinking lad, a Michelin Guides website is not about fancy restaurants but something much, much better involving Michel Platini.

You have to take your hat off to Englishman Adam Mascall for this stunt. The Sun tells the story of how the quick-thinking Adam spotted that the domain name www.michelinguides.com was available.

Adam purchased it for a few euro but rather than then try and force the famous restaurant guide to pay him for the name, he used it for something much, much cooler; A piss-take of Uefa supremo Michel Platini.

Adam has set up the site as Michel in Guides, and features loads and loads of pictures of the French man photoshopped into guides of all sorts. Examples are below but the site has many more. Odd, but strangely amusing.

 

“I’m not attempting to use it for personal gain or to in any way confuse or redirect Michelin’s customers,” says Adam in The Sun. “I just did this for a laugh.”

You certainly succeeded there Adam.

As for the real Michelin Guide, they are trying to take the joke well.

“While we appreciate the amusing nature of the website, we have to do everything possible to protect the Michelin brand,” said a spokesperson.

We assume the real thing will take over the site soon, so enjoy it while you can.
