Main Event: The Story of Ireland, RTÉ 1, 11.05pm

Fergal Keane examines Ireland's history since the Boer War. He highlights the rebellion of 1916 in the context of the First World War, and illustrates how figures including Edward Carson, Ian Paisley, Eamon De Valera and Charles Haughey influenced political and social developments before and after partition. The presenter also discusses how Sean Lemass brought economic openness to the country in the 1960s. Last in the series
