A boycott of RTE is in motion from at least nine of the country’s top GAA managers over the treatment of commentator Brian Carthy.
Tyrone chief Mickey Harte is one of the leading figures in the revolt against the national broadcaster after Mr Carthy was not given the nod to take over from the retired Micheal O Muircheartaigh.
The consensus from the managers is that Carthy is not getting a “fair crack at the whip” for the job.
Numerous managers, including Harte, refused to be interviewed by RTE after games at the weekend.
“A few of us talked about it and said we felt he [Carthy] was the voice of radio and synonymous with GAA now that Micheal O Muircheartaigh had retired,” Harte told the Irish Daily Star.
“We felt his was the voice we all connect with radio GAA and we sent a letter to RTE to the effect that we would like to meet some people to discuss that.
“To date there has been no response to that letter.
“We decided some of us would make that known this week by not conversing with RTE.”
